Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing several ways to style one of my favorite accessories: a scarf.
Scarves are instant outfit-makers.
Looking too plain-Jane? Spice up your look with a scarf. Wrinkle in your shirt and no time to iron? Throw on a scarf. Something doesn’t seem quite right? Hide it behind a scarf. You get the idea.

Proof. Basic white tee + jeans + scarf = instant chic outfit that gives the appearance of something well-thought out. It really doesn’t get easier.
Don’t be fooled into thinking that scarves are only to be worn on the chilliest of days. I wear them 3 seasons of the year, and if a sarong over a bathing suit can be called a scarf, you can chalk it up to four seasons.
Some people stray away from scarves because they can’t figure out to tie them properly. Sound familiar?
Well, today I’ll take you step by step through my favorite way to tie one. You will literally have people stopping you to tell you how pretty your “knot” is!
First, 4 super simple ways to style a scarf.
1. Draped around your neck.
2. As a shawl
3. Wrapped around in a coil
4. Pulled through a loop
5. The Braid
And finally, this is my favorite way to tie a long scarf!
Although it’s easy to do, Step 3 is the trickiest to show and explain.
Grab the end of the scarf that has not yet been pulled through and slip it through the loop from the opposite direction. Notice my hand is in the loop and grabbing the loose end that is underneath it. This is the step that creates the interesting “braid” effect.
“Fluff” the scarf so that it lays loosely around your neck.

My husband was very patient with me while photographing these step-by-step pics. (Those of you who know him are probably giggling right now!) In chorus: Thank you, Justin!
I hope it makes him smile when he sees all of you fabulous women wearing your scarves this way! It would make it all worthwhile. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!
Until next week,
