Today is the first roundup of tips.
This month’s question:
What is your favorite beauty tip?
It would only be right if I go first, so here is my favorite beauty tip to kick off the month.
B.E.S.T. Beauty Tips
Grow longer lashes
Francesca, Fine Wine & Tater Tots Life & Style Blog:
There are SO many lash-grow products on the market –several of which cost over $100!– but there is a much more cost effective solution to growing longer lashes: moisture.
After speaking with a few eyebrow and eyelash specialists, I learned that part of the reason lashes and brows don’t grow is because the follicle is dry. This often comes as a result of age, but to stimulate growth you just need to apply the right products.
My preference is Vasoline, but many people swear by castor oil. Simply apply to lashes before bed and wash off in the morning. Do this every night and in a few weeks, you’ll notice lash growth. Easy and affordable–it’s a win win. @finewineandtatertots
Now, here’s a roundup of the best beauty tips from bloggers across the web.
Create gorgeous brows
A pair of well groomed brows can make ALL the difference in my opinion. And as a reformed over-plucker, I’m obsessed with achieving the perfect arches!
One great tip I learned from an expert is to use a highlighter pencil underneath your brows to really lift them and brighten the whole area. A little highlight on the brow bone not only makes them pop, but also helps with shaping and definition.
Bonus tip – you can blend some concealer or foundation (a shade lighter than your skin tone) above the brows too, to define them further and neaten up your whole look!
Add Plump to Your Pout
Full lips are all the rage these days. From Juverderm, lip fillers, suction devices to plump your lips, to lip gloss that leaves a bee-stinged look, it’s hard not to notice one’s pout. My favorite beauty tip to enhance the size of your lip is simple, doesn’t require needles and won’t leave bruise marks!
After lining your top and bottom lip and applying your favorite lipstick, add a dab of concealer to the center bottom lip and lightly mix it with your lip color. It adds definition to the lip and gives the illusion of a fuller pout!
Secret Weapon Beauty Product
Lauren from balancinginstyle.com
One of my favorite beauty products is something that’s extremely versatile and not necessarily thought of as being a beauty product. Coconut oil has been my beauty go-to for quite sometime. It’s known to have antibacterial and antiflammatory properties, is super moisturizing, and of course, smells delicious! I currently use it as an eye makeup remover, moisturizer, and lip exfoliator.
Before I do my night time skin routine, I sweep a cotton pad with coconut oil across my eyes to remove my eye makeup. After I cleanse and tone my face, I dab some coconut oil under my eyes and on any other dry areas around my face. Once a week, I combine coconut oil with a little bit of sugar to gently exfoliate my lips. The oil also works as a great lip moisturizer. My hands tend to get very dry during the winter, so I have been recently using it as a hand moisturizer too. I prefer to use raw organic virgin coconut oil. More and more research is finding that coconut oil use has long-term benefits on our health, skin, and hair… why not give it a try?

When applying mascara instead of wiping off the extra mascara from the tip of the wand I apply it to my lash line that way I don’t have to apply liner and it makes your lashes appear fuller. 😊❤️
Gorgeous Second-Day Hair
When it comes to hair, especially for those of us with super fine and limp locks, dry shampoo is your best friend. I used to wash my hair every day because if I didn’t it would become oily and impossible to wear out even in a ponytail, but I quickly learned that it was oily because I washed it too often. Who knew?! But since using dry shampoo, I can now go at least another day, sometimes even two with a just a few sprays in the roots.
There are a ton of different dry shampoos on the market, some better than others depending on your hair type. I have been using Batiste Dry Shampoo and would totally recommend it if you are looking for something reasonably priced that leaves your hair smelling fresh and clean.
Here are three tips to remember when using dry shampoo:
- Don’t spray too close to your scalp – it’s best to hold the bottle at least 6 inches away.
- Don’t use too much dry shampoo, a little goes a long way.
- Don’t be afraid to use it on clean hair. When I shower and style my hair at night (once in a while), I spray it in before going to sleep. This actually helps to ensure that there is no visible white residue left in my hair when I wake up.
