When the weather warms up, my go-to weekend wear includes comfortable tanks with shorts and sleeveless dresses.
Today I want to share an adorable tank that would be perfect for festivals, BBQs and casual get-togethers.

What I love about this festival tank
The colors in this tank by O’Neill are flattering on everyone because of their beautiful jewel tones. Navy is always a favorite of mine, no matter the season, but pair it with a golden yellow and ivory and we have a gorgeous combo!
I also love the lightweight fabric of this tank. No matter the heat index, this one will keep you cool (read: no sweat marks!)
Lastly, the cut is so flattering! It has a high-cut neckline, A-line shaping, and the back has a delicate criss-cross design (insert heart-eye emojis).
For those ladies who are wondering what type of bra to wear with one of these tanks, you have a few options.
- If you prefer a standard bra style, you can pair this tank with a neutral cardi to avoid unsightly bra strap-exposure.
- Wear a strapless bra with it (my preference) since it has a tapered neckline. Before you run away screaming at the thought of this, know that strapless bras have come a long way since your college days. Gone are the strapless bras that slip down and need to be hiked back up throughout the day. There are now silicone sticky bras that maintain your shape but allow you to wear open back shirts! They are washable and re-useable and I’ve linked up my favorite one in the widget below. Size up, they run small.
My favorite denim shorts
Finding the right denim shorts is a serious struggle, but I finally located the right wash, cut and fit to flatter my curvy lower half, so I had to share it with all of you!
When I look for denim, I consider the following:
- a slimming dark wash
- stretch for comfort
- a high enough rise in the back
- enough length that will prevent them from riding up or exposing parts I’d like to keep covered!
That being said, I don’t want to wear Bermuda shorts, so I find that a 3.5″-5″ length is a good range to suit my 5’6″ frame.
This particular pair is true to size and stretchy enough to be comfortable without sagging or losing shape. It has a 3″ inseam and a high enough rise in the back (13″ to be exact!) to be comfortable. It’s well-worth it’s price tag because it’s probably one of the few I’ll buy this year–which means they’ll be in constant rotation all summer!
Tory Burch sandals
If you haven’t added these Tory Burch Miller sandals to your cart yet, let me encourage you to take the plunge! They are gorgeous and SO comfortable. The emblem that rests on the top of your foot is made of leather, so there is no scratchy discomfort as you walk. I bought them in the Makeup color in my standard size (US 9.5) and their neutral shade go with absolutely EVERYTHING! These will definitely be my go-to sandals this summer!
